Judy,
I spoke with a librarian from the Charlotte, NC main library yesterday.
She has been searching for info on the Shelbys for me for a month now.
Yesterday she read to me from a book called "The Alexander Notebooks", Vol.
I, which came from the notes left by the Alexanders of Mecklenburg Co,
including Adam Alexander (husband of Mary Selby).
In the notes, Mary's ancestry is given, as well as, the wife and family of
Moses Shelby, her brother. The surname of Moses' wife, Isabel, is given as
"Redd".
I would think, that because this information comes directly from the family
notebooks, it is more likely to be correct.
Do you know anything about these books? ... or, the idea that Isabel's last
name was Redd?
Martha
