Hello Judith, I am not really a new subscriber to your list. I have e-mailed
back to you a couple of times and some how lost contact. I have a new e-mail
address & had to re-subscribe. My name is Jerry Dalton Shelby, I live in
Selma Alabama and I am researching my Shelby line. My last e-mail to you
before I changed from Jd68bap@aol.com  to the above Bellsouth was to try &
tie down my great great grandfather Abraham Shelby (buried at the Old Well
Cemetery in Hickman County Tennessee) to Rees Shelby of the Carolina's. I
also sent a comment back to you about a digest that was sent out with our
Alabama Senator Richard Shelby, his great grandfather John Rufus Shelby is
buried approximately 9 mile from where I live. I went out and found this
church & graveyard (took several pictures). I recently made a trip to
Charlotte North Carolina & Columbia South Carolina in an attempt to find
something to verify this. I was a little disappointed, but I did find the
Waxhaw Presbyterian Church & Cemetery (just over into South Carolina) with a
monument for Rees Shelby. Also in Monroe, North Carolina I visited the
Heritage Room in the old court house. Johnnie Johnson (Peapicker) had a book
there that I found very interesting about the Shelby's.  Well I better go
for now, as you can probably tell that I will just keep going on & on.
