Brilliant is set up the same way as Wolverine. Including the manual pump =
issues, and I rebuilt it when I bought the boat - only worked for a =
year. Good news is my 14 year oold son likes to climb into those =
spaces, so maybe it will work again in the spring. My biggest problem =
has been getting an auto switch that works for more than a month. The =
float types seem to engage when heeled, ultrasound and electric current =
all seem to foul and get stuck on. Whatever!
On the matter of draining through the head sink drain, watch those =
vented loops. A friend of mine almost lost his Tartan 10 the same way!

Hi Rod,
Wolverine's manual bilge pump is in the same location as yours =
and needs to be repaired/replaced. If you know anyone small enough to =
get back there, let me know.
Our automatic bilge pump is mounted near the fresh water system =
pump on the starboard side aft of the engine. It's accessible from the =
cockpit lazerette.=20
Do I owe you any other measurements or photos for the tuning =
guide?=20
Regards,
Dave

Hi Fellow Frers 33 Sailors;
Hope you all had a great season. We've had the Tuning Guide =
posted for a few months now. I have a few minor changes to finalize it =
(rig measurements) so if anyone has any additional suggestions please =
let me know.
The second item I have relates to some problem areas relating =
to bilge pump location and operation.
1.. The manual bilge pump is located on the port side of the =
cockpit just aft of the wheel and discharges overboard near the =
waterline. Convenient location but a long haul for the water to get =
overboard. I seem to be loosing suction. Difficult area to get to. =
Has anyone experienced this problem and if so how did you rectify it?=20
2.. Electric bilge pump located under the port settee with =
the discharge port side aft just above the manual bilge pump near the =
gunwhale. There is a float switch in the bilge and a strainer in the =
hose before it enters the pump. Either the pump is too small, not =
working properly or the discharge hose is too long. The result is that =
even if the bilge is full it takes forever to empty it using the =
electric bilge pump. Wondering if everyone has the same arrangement of =
if some have moved the bilge pump discharge location closer to the pump.
Thanks in advance for your replies.
